High School Spring Hill 2 of 2

So the video above is the first time I ever used Final Cut to edit a video. There are things about the program I like and things I don’t care for. I need to experiment with the compression because this video is very blurry and that needs to be fixed.

So highlights for the trip:

Seven Glory – Love that band. They do an awesome job. I am so glad they will be at the Middle School retreat.

Andrea – Our speaker for the weekend. I enjoyed what she had to say and how she said it. last time I was at Spring Hill I thought our speaker was kind of cheesy this time I think she had a good message for the believer and nonbeliever alike.

Cabin Mates – I don’t think I have ever been in such a good cabin. Sure we stayed up very late and kept our neighbors up. But there was no pranks or anything out of line. I enjoyed getting to know these guys more. Some for the first time and some for the millionth.

New people – There were several people on the trip whom I have never met before and it was fun getting to know them better. I hope that they continue attending so I can continue to get to know them.

Overall it was a good experience and I cant wait to go back in two weeks for the Middle school.

This weeks schedule:

Tonight’s worship night – I have no idea what to expect so I am expecting nothing so I will be surprised when something happens.

Website – I have put it off for a while but I need to keep working on that.

High School Spring Hill 1 of 2

So this last weekend was the High School winter retreat at Spring Hill. It was lots of fun. To all those who went I hope you enjoyed yourself and I hope that you were challenged.

I will give you the highlights of my weekend after I finish the recap video so you can have something to reference to.

Snow!

So I spent a large portion of last week and I will spend a large portion of this week working on the web page. This is something that I was asked to do a long time ago but for several reasons have not had the chance to get to it. This project has been very interesting. I have learned a lot about the program we use to edit our site though trial and error and more error.

Last Monday nights practice was an interesting one. There was lots of confusion and miscommunication because this Sunday is just the middle school. With whatever problems we had the practice went well. I hope we get back from the retreat in time so I can see these people play.

This weekend is the high school retreat. I am excited. I have done little preparation for this but I can’t wait to go. These retreats are always a good time. I am especially excited because I have not spent much time with the high school kids and I want to.

Well I don’t know what else to say.

Enjoy the snow!

Why am I here?

Well this is the beginning of something.
What I don’t know.
Well I do know.
So I lied.
Ok.

It all starts with the fact that I have just accepted and started a position at Mainstreet Church as their Next Gen intern. What does this mean? I don’t know yet. Actually I do know. It means that I am going to be working with the next generation at Mainstreet. This includes 6th graders though 20 somethings but I will primarily be working with kids in the middle school.

So what is the point of this?

Well a few things.

One: Blogging is cool. I want to be cool. So I am blogging.

Two: People ask me lots of questions. I want to answer them. But not fifty times. So I can get all the information out at once. On a blog.

Three: I should evaluate myself. Writing a blog makes me look back on events. This causes me to evaluate myself.

Four: There is no four.

Five: I have people supporting me. These supporters want to know what they are supporting. So I blog.

So I am going to try my hardest to use this blog to fulfill these objectives. I plan on keeping you informed about my experiences as an intern here. Stay tuned for more.

So until next time…
