Noting of importance going on. Just working on our last two Sunday night and preparing for the summer.

So I have been uploading lots of the videos I have made over the years on YouTube. (Check it out at www.youtube.com/user/tuskandshell.) I got to this one and I started tearing up. That small group has changed my life. I pray that I will be able to experience the companionship that we had with some other students some day.

Slow Week

So last Friday was the High School Geek Night. Not much to say about it but this will be the last time we let people go home early. Stay all night or don’t come at all is my new policy. Other than that I am just excited that I have 2 weeks of school.

Easter is here!!!

Ok…not much has happened so I had not much to post.

This past Sunday was the Rock Hop and Roll tour. I thought it went really well. There was a good number of people there and I got the chance to connect with kids I normally don’t get the chance to.

I have been doing more work on the web page and that I coming along quite nicely.

Last Monday I went to Sandusky with Amy and Heather to look at the site of the UB national conference. I am leading the youth portion of the conference. It sounds like it will be lots of fun. I am excited about the message being presented. I won’t spoil it for anyone attending.

Other than that I am just excited that school is almost done for this semester.

Middle School Spring Hill

So Spring Hill was a blast as expected. Here are the highlights:

Seven Glory – As mentioned before I love that band.

Leadership – Because it was middle school I had a bigger leadership role. It was challenging but it was a good experience and I learned a lot.

People - Some students I did not know going in. some I knew relatively well. I just have to say that I enjoyed getting to know them all. There are several kids who are not regulars at mainstreet and I would hope that they find a home here.

Buss ride – I don’t know why but I think I enjoyed this buss ride more than I do most.

On another note last night I taught and it was very different. I approached a more serious topic and I presented it in a much more serious way than I normally do. I thought it went well and I got lots of good feedback. Next week is probably going to be presented in a similar way.

MORPH and the death of a hero

So last night was the MOPRH service. I was in charge of the music for the evening. That night we ended up having a much larger band then normal. Ryan G, Dennis and myself played guitar. Evelyn played the congas and Aaron led the most important part of the band, the bass. I thought it was lots of fun and I hope to do it again. We had this folk/jam band type of thing.

I am going to be working on the middle school retreat video this weekend and will give you more information about this later.

Till then I will still be grieving from the loss of Steve Rodgers. The late great Captain America.

High School Spring Hill 2 of 2

So the video above is the first time I ever used Final Cut to edit a video. There are things about the program I like and things I don’t care for. I need to experiment with the compression because this video is very blurry and that needs to be fixed.

So highlights for the trip:

Seven Glory – Love that band. They do an awesome job. I am so glad they will be at the Middle School retreat.

Andrea – Our speaker for the weekend. I enjoyed what she had to say and how she said it. last time I was at Spring Hill I thought our speaker was kind of cheesy this time I think she had a good message for the believer and nonbeliever alike.

Cabin Mates – I don’t think I have ever been in such a good cabin. Sure we stayed up very late and kept our neighbors up. But there was no pranks or anything out of line. I enjoyed getting to know these guys more. Some for the first time and some for the millionth.

New people – There were several people on the trip whom I have never met before and it was fun getting to know them better. I hope that they continue attending so I can continue to get to know them.

Overall it was a good experience and I cant wait to go back in two weeks for the Middle school.
